Actors Jake Cuenca and Maja Salvador are reuniting to work in a movie project that will feature them as a love team. The two have previously worked together in television and movie projects like Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko and Villa Estrella. Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko was a television show that aired way back in 2006 and Villa Estrella was a horror movie released in 2009.
To be directed by Chris Martinez and to be produced by Regal Films, the movie which carries the title Status: It's Complicated, will be a romantic comedy which according to director Martinez was inspired by the film Salawahan by Ishmael Bernal. Salawahan starred Rio Locsin and Matt Ranillo III. Salvador and Cuenca will step in the shoes of the two mentioned actors.
Salawahan was released on September 21, 1979. It was directed by Ishmael Bernal from a story written by Jose N. Carreon. It also starred Rita Gomez, Jay Ilagan, Sandy Andolong, Mark Gil and Ruthie Roces.

Status: It's Complicated is "about relationship, courtship. Napapanahon pa rin siya. Ginawa namin mas
hip, mas contemporary. Siyempre iba na ang mga artista, mas masaya, mas
modern," according to director Martinez. No release date for the film has been announced yet. Also starring in the film are Eugene Domingo, Solenn Heussaff and Paulo Avelino.
